Restored painting of King Tran Nhan Tong sold for US$1.8 million A restored version of King-Monk Tran Nhan Tong, the founder of Vietnam Zen Buddhism, was auctioned at US$1.8 million.  Tuoi Tre cited as a news source from China’s Karamy Daily News as saying that the auction was held in April by the Beijing-based Poly Company. An artwork by the late Vietnamese painter Bui Xuan Phai is to go up for auction in Singapore on July 28. Several paintings by Vietnamese artists will be up for auction at Hong Kong's Mandarin Oriental Hotel on May 29. Among the 40 lots to be auctioned off during the week, being held by leading Asian auction house Larasati, will be Self Portrait, an oil on canvas, by Vietnamese Painter Do Quang Em.
