About the artist

Ruchi is an artist from India, currently based in HCMC. Faces and eyes have always been her source of inspiration. Her passion found its form and style under the guidance of her ‘guru’, artist Indyra Asmanu in Jakarta, Indonesia. Over the past 7 years Ruchi has drawn inspiration from human forms and presented them artistically through various media – she enjoys the versatility of acrylic and smoothness of oils. Charcoals and soft pastels are her other favourites. Her palette is monochromatic and plays with rich colours.

Ruchi’s work reflects realism. In her paintings the eyes are a window to the soul, the curves of nude backs show grace and strength. For Ruchi, a painting is not complete until it ‘speaks’ to her. She has exhibited in Jakarta and HCMC. This is her first solo exhibition.
